In early December, Dr. Robert P. Jones will travel to China to speak as part of a State Department forum aimed at helping to revive the study of American religion in China. Dr. Jones will be accompanied by American University Professor James Thurber as part of a delegation from the US-China Education Trust, which focuses on partnering with higher education institutions in China to help them understand the US on a deeper level. Dr. Jones will elaborate on still on how society and culture (including religion) play a role in the 2012 US elections and political processes in the US more generally.
Dr. Jones will facilitate a graduate class and then deliver an open lecture at Sichuan University and Sichuan Normal University in China.
