Dr. Amina Zarrugh (she/her) is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. 

Her research and teaching focus on how states shape the politics of belonging along the lines of race, religion, and gender in the United States and in North Africa with particular attention toward the global impacts of Islamophobia. Her work has appeared in journals such as Critical Sociology, Ethnic and Racial StudiesSociology of Race and EthnicityTeaching Sociology, and Women’s Studies Quarterly, among others. She received her PhD in Sociology with a Certificate in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
