Between Juneteenth and the Fourth of July

On July 1, PRRI CEO Robert P. Jones, author Kristin Kobes Du Mez, and Amanda Tyler, executive director of BJC (Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty) gathered for an online discussion  on white Christian nationalism.

For those who weren’t able to attend, or who would like to share the event, you can find a recording of the event here.

Jones is the author of last year’s critically acclaimed White Too Long: The Legacy of White Supremacy in American Christianity, in which he delivers a provocative examination of the relationship between American Christianity and white supremacy. A paperback version of the book will be available July 13, with a new afterword reflecting on the threat of white Christian nationalism and how it manifested in the 2020 election and the U.S. Capitol insurrection on January 6, 2021. Be among the first to receive the paperback version of White Too Long by placing your preorder now.

Du Mez is the New York Times best-selling author of Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation, charting the 75-year shift in American evangelicalism that led Salon’s Michael Rae to describe the 2020 book as a “tour-de-force indictment of the white evangelical cult of masculinity.” The paperback version of Jesus and John Wayne is available for order here.
